The Aircel Group, a joint venture between Maxis Communications Berhad of Malaysia and Apollo Hospital of India, is all set to become a national operator.
Aircel began its outward expansion in 2005 and met with a positive response on eastern frontier circles. It claims to be a market leader in Assam and in the Northeastern provinces. During this period, the company gained foothold in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Northeast, Orissa, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and West Bengal. Aircel’s CIO Ravinder Jain talks more on the company’s achievements and expansion plans. Excerpts
